5 Favourite Fall ... Florals

If you are local to Moose Jaw and possibly even Regina, you have likely heard of Ellen's on Main.  A local staple to our friendly city, Ellen's has been creating and selling gorgeous bouquets and unique treasures for longer than I can even remember.  What some might not know, is that Ellen's is no longer owned by Ellen but has been taken on by the lovely Leanne who has made it her own and brought in some wonderful new ideas, keeping what made Ellen's great and adding her fresh new spin.
I had the pleasure of stopping in to the shop to ask Leanne about her favourite fall florals, since I am not an expert in this area and could probably name about as many flowers as I have fingers.  The place was bustling as they created 3 different bouquets for gift orders as well as about 100 centrepieces for a gala in Regina.  (I was most definitely in the way, but they were so sweet and even stopped to explain things as they went)  Leanne and her staff have a knack for putting together beautiful arrangements and it was incredible to watch them as they removed the excess leaves, laid out the florals and then skillfully turned it into a beautiful bouquet.
The Ellen's team was also the ones who created our beautiful florals for the Evy James Photoshoots this fall and we were all swooning over the arrangements.  But what I loved about Leanne and her team was the friendly atmosphere they have created and that they were so welcoming and knowledgable without making me feel out of my element or silly for not having a clue about flowers.
So here is (a few) of our Favourite Fall Florals, because there is definitely more than five that I fell in love with while at Ellen's on Main.
1. Gerbera Daisy
These are a very well known flower but what I love about including them for fall is that they can come in some pretty amazing fall colours and can really pop in a bouquet  because of their large size.
2. Roses
Another simple, well known choice, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Roses are wonderful, both classic and contemporary and they are a great addition to a bouquet all through the year.  But for fall,  beautiful deep red roses or bold orange roses can help to pull a bouquet together and add a romantic aspect so simply.
3. Sunflowers
Big, bright and bold, sunflowers are the quintessential fall flowers.  Because of their size and bring petals, a sunflower naturally steals the show. They are especially amazing as a bouquet on their own.

4.  Protea Neriifolia ie Oleanderleaf Protea
These quirky beauties are a flowering plant that comes from South Africa. Its unusual shape and unique look make this flower an interesting addition to a bouquet that will definitely draw attention.

5. Hanging Amaranthus
These beautiful hanging flowers create stunning texture and movement as it drapes out of a bouquet. It truly is stunning and has become one of my favourites.  (its the one hanging down from the bouquet shown here)

the process : stripping the leaves, laying out the florals, arrangement
